Historic Macon Neighborhood Tree Nursery

Monday, November 21, 2011

Historic Macon's tree nursery has a few trees that are ready to be transplanted! Thanks to a grant from the Knight Neighborhood Challenge and the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Historic Macon planted a nursery to grow shade trees in Beall's Hill about a year and a half ago. Now, the first trees are mature and ready to find new homes.

If you live in College Hill (map) and would like to reserve a shade tree, please click here to fill out the online form. Trees will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Trees may be delivered to your front yard, bagged for free or planted for $100. There is a limit of two trees per property until everyone has had a chance to reserve a tree. The trees will be delivered/planted on November 28.

Varietals available this year: Red Maple, Pin Oak, Elm, Sycamore, Willow Oak, Southern Magnolia and Yellow Poplar
